Ladies,
I'm sorry that I haven't updated the blog before now. There is a piece of information that you might be aware of. The book we choose for this month was Everything Matters by Ron Currie. Both Autumn and I attempted to start this book with disappointing results. There was content in the book that I feel would be offensive to some of our members.
So I was wondering if instead of pushing to get a book read this close to the holidays that we could just ask you to read a Christmas story and come prepared to share it. It could be a children's book or something more.
What do you think?

Hi ladies, I truly apologize for those of you that read part of the chosen book. Had I known this book was so inappropriate I would not have recommended it. Books should have a rating system to help you choose good ones before you read them, since you cannot always count on people's review.
Again, really sorry about that.

No need to apologize, Marluce. In summarized form it did sound like a fun read. I skipped to various parts of the book to see if the story picked up and yeah--it didn't appear to. If I had a nickel for every book I started reading based on the summary only to find it wasn't what I thought it would be--I could retire on a private island. :)
Certainly no offence taken. :-) Is anyone surprised to find I hadn't started it yet. I like Sarah's idea for sharing a Christmas book in January.
Speaking of January... It's my turn to present but I will be out of town. Would it be possible to trade months with someone? Anyone? Anyone?...

Hi ladies, hope you all had a nice Christmas and New years break :)
Just writing to see if everyone is still ok to meet tomorrow, Jan 2nd at 7:30pm at my house. I know it is right after the holidays, so let me know if you will be able to come. I know Jen will be out of town. We could push it to next Thursday, but then I wouldn't be able to host in my home since I have something going on next Thursday. In any case I know it could be arranged at one of you ladies' homes.

I am planning on tonight. Next week is parent/teacher conferences so it's a bit of a hectic day!
Tonight works for me! I just talked to Marilyn and she said she can come tonight as well, and that Jackie said she could probably come too. So I think tonight will be great Marluce.

Just realized it is Friday so I totally missed book group... again. Mark doesn't go back to school until Monday so my days are all weekends at the moment. Which is nice until I actually have something on my schedule! So sorry to have missed you all AGAIN. I'll try to make it in February but this baby is due on the 7th so no promises :)
